Revenues of the Company increased 8.7% compared to the first quarter of 2020, in constant currency. The greater dynamism was seen in Chile, market in which revenues grew 22.0%.
The reorganization process implemented in 2020 generated important operational and commercial efficiencies that positively influenced the results of the first quarter of 2021. In this sense, during the first quarter and in constant currency, consolidated EBITDA increased 85.1%, EBITDA margin reached 12.7% standing 590bp (YoY), positively highlighting the improvements achieved in all markets.
Net Profit of the quarter reached $ 8,834 million – US$ 12.2 million -, beating by 10.4% the figure reported the same quarter of the previous year.
In commercial terms, business closed reached US$ 295.3 million, increasing 15.6% compared to the first quarter of 2020. New business opportunities (“pipeline”) totaled US$ 4,971 million, where Brazil contributed with 45%.
Referring to these results, SONDA´s CEO, José Orlandini, pointed out that “We have started this 2021 with a lot of enthusiasm and focus in continue to recover greater dynamism and profitability. The first quarter results continue to confirm the progress we began to see during the second half of 2020, allowing us to be optimistic for this year. The measures adopted the previous year, such as greater organizational efficiency, verticalization and promotion of technologies that accompany the digital transformation of our clients, constitute a solid base to achieve this year’s objectives”. Finally, he mentioned that “we hope that in 2021 the pandemic will begin to subside as immunization programs advance, and therefore the prospects for the economy in the world and in the region continue to improve.”
