SONDA TOTALED US$ 1.152 MILLION IN REVENUES IN 2018

SONDA, the leading Latin American network of IT Services and solutions, reported its results for 2018, in which consolidated revenues totaled $800,142 million, equivalent to US$1,151.7 million, EBITDA reached $91,290 million, equivalent to US$131.4 million, and net income was $10,685 million, equivalent to US$15.4 million. The latter included a negative effect over tax (-US$23.3 million) as a consequence of exchange rate fluctuations (CLP/USD).

The EBITDA margin for the period was 11.4%, standing out the sequential improvements reached during the year. In the fourth quarter, the EBITDA margin reached 12.6%, representing an expansion of 310 basis points comparing to the first quarter of the year. Brazil highlighted registering higher margins quarter-to-quarter during 2018 and compared to 2017; in BRL, EBITDA increased 23.9% compared to 2017. Other Countries in Latin America (OPLA) registered a growth of 7.3% in EBITDA during 2018 and an increase of 17.8% in revenues, both in constant currency.

The depreciation of the Brazilian real, Mexican peso, Colombian peso and Argentine peso, translated to the Chilean peso, negatively affected the translation of results into reporting currency.

Business closings reached US$1,249 million, highlighting the increase registered in OPLA (+17.2%). IT Services contributed with 54.9% of the contracts closings, standing out the closings in IT Outsourcing, which contributed with 29.6% of the company’s business closed, registering an increase of 8.8% compared to 2017.

Business opportunities (“pipeline”) reached US$3,227.3 million, in line with the opportunities registered at the end of 2017, highlighting the 123.3% growth in new business opportunities in Chile and 14.0% in OPLA.

Regarding SONDA´s results, the CEO of SONDA, Raul Vejar pointed out that “2018 was a challenging year and was not free of complexities, in a volatile and uncertain international context, we worked on several initiatives, such as the reorganization process in Brazil, changes in the direction of our operations in Mexico and Colombia and the integration of companies acquired in Brazil and Colombia.” He also stated that “we must highlight the case of SONDA Brazil where we have improved margins and quarter-to-quarter results, setting a positive and encouraging trend.” He concluded saying that “with the measures taken, improving expectations in local economies, and with the implementation of our 2019-2021 strategic plan recently approved, we renewed our enthusiasm and optimism to face 2019.”
