Business Need

  • Establish competitive advantages for the business, and create a corporate management model that is faster and more accurate using Business Intelligence.
  • Gomes da Costa needed support from the SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) tool during its financial closing period, as its budgetary planning process is very complex, and also needed to automate the dashboards prepared by its planning department.

Solution

IT SONDA developed a plan to direct Business Intelligence using a long-term corporate roadmap, which was composed of various projects that could be rapidly implemented with tangible results. These involved upgrading SAP Business Objects and improving business visibility using mobile devices.

Results

  • The project automated commercial and production cost information, and planning department expenditure information. This enabled information to be rapidly and safely provided using interactive screens. Furthermore, the analysis was performed on mobile devices using SAP applications.
  • The flow of data from legacy systems was automated, which decreased the time required by users to manage information and increased the time available to analyze the results.
  • The number of slides required to present financial information fell from 150 to only five.
  • The project produced three principal benefits for Gomes da Costa: agile management information capture to assist in decision-making, centralized information provided by the portal and mobile devices, and data presentation using user-friendly interactive tools.
