July 24, 2017. SONDA, the leading Latin American Information Technology company, reported its results for the first half of the year, where consolidated revenues totaled Ch$ 409,684 million, equivalent to US$ 616.7 million, EBITDA was Ch$43,494 million equivalent to US$ 65.5 million, and Net Income totaled Ch$ 14,002 million, equivalent to US$ 17,6 million.
Revenues from Operations outside Chile, totaled US$ 350.0 million, contributing 56.8% of consolidated revenues.
The consolidated EBITDA margin reached 10.6% in the first half of 2017. It stands out the EBITDA margin registered in Chile (16.6%). Meanwhile, the Brazilian operations registered the second margin improvement in a row since 4Q16.
The commercial activity has showed a positive increase of 36.7% in the volume of deals closed, amounting US$ 677.9 million. The latter is mainly driven by an increase in the volumes of business closed in Brazil (141.0%) and the OPLA region (28.5%).
The pipeline of business opportunities totaled US$ 3,520.3 million, up 71.2% compared to June 2016. The increase was boosted by a rise in the volume of business opportunities in Brazil (+80.5%) and Mexico (+278.1%), were the pipeline reached US$ 2,025 million and US$ 547 million, respectively.
Regarding SONDA’s results, Mr. Raúl Véjar, CEO of the Company, said: “In the first half of this year, the persistent weak scenario in Latin-American economies and the political uncertainty has been affecting the level of investment and new projects in the region”. He added that “However, it has been particularly encouraging the growth in the commercial activity related to IT Services, which shows an increasing recovery in the volume of deals closed as well as in new business opportunities, especially in Brazil. The latter allow us to see with more optimism the second half of 2017”.
