Banco BBVA signed an international agreement with Cisco to upgrade its telecommunications platform, in order to commercially strengthen its IT security platform.
This model has been successfully replicated in countries with strong growth, such as Mexico, Spain and more recently Colombia, where SONDA was awarded the implementation of a new specialized solution. It integrates Cisco’s security portfolio with a suite of professional services that install, configure and deploy such technology.
Furthermore, the project includes resident engineering services to manage, support and maintain the platform for a period of 5 years.
This solution forms part of BBVA’s NAC 2.0 project. It consists of an ISE (Identity Service Engine), which is a new approach to managing and protecting changes to the IT network. This is complemented by DMVPN (Dynamic Multipoint VPN) and on-site engineering to manage and support the platform.
BBVA is a leading financial institution in Europe with strong positioning in Spanish and Mexican markets, and undisputed leadership in various Latin American countries, such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
BBVA is the fourth largest bank In Colombia in terms of assets, and has implemented a diversification based strategy in markets with high growth potential. This has resulted in a customer-focused business model that uses technology as the key ingredient for addressing the transformation process that the financial sector is undertaking.
