Our history


Since we were founded in 1974, we have been the drivers and active agents of change for companies and institutions in the region to incorporate information technology to their daily activities and operations.  As a result, we have been able to develop large-scale projects in Latin America and thus build a successful track record that has made us the leading IT services and solutions company in Latin America.

National consolidation

In the period 1975 to 1980, there was a sustained growth in our operations driven by a strategic alliance with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), one of the leading manufacturers in the 80s and 90s.

From 1981 to 1985, we consolidated our company’s leadership in Chile, which helped us take the first step toward what would be a challenging international expansion.  Among the notable projects in this period are the automation of the Civil Registry, solutions for Pension Fund Managers (AFP) and Health Management Organizations (ISAPRE), and the first SONDA-designed ERP (SGS Management System).

Consolidation throughout Latin America

We went public successfully in 2006, and were able to add new sources of funding to strengthen our regional position. Since then, through efficient financial management and ambitious three-year investment plans, we have acquired companies that have bolstered our presence on important markets in the region like Brazil and Colombia, enabling us to grow sustainably and consolidate our regional presence.

Since 2006, we have participated in major modernization projects, in particular the transportation collection system in Santiago and Valparaíso (Chile), Panama City and San Salvador; the implementation of public procurement portals in Colombia and Panama; IoT projects for the city of Sao Luis de Paraitinga; and service desk and SAP projects for Petrobras in Brazil. We also launched our Business Cloud Computing services, we concluded the construction of a new Tier III data center in Chile and a new corporate building and data center in Sao Paulo (Brazil), added to the acquisition of a world-class data center in Belo Horizonte (Brazil), which helped us reinforce the IT Service Supply in Brazil. In 2017, we completed the purchase of the Colombian Compufácil Group, one of the leading IT service providers in the country, making us one of the largest IT integrators in Colombia and boosting our business strategy for value-added services in the country.

  • 2008 – We were added to the Selective Stock Price Index (IPSA) of Chile
  • 2008 – Acquisition of Procwork (Brazil) and Red Colombia (Colombia)
  • 2009 – Issuance of Series C Bonds
  • 2010 – Acquisition of Telsinc, Softeam and Kaizen (Brazil), Nextira One (Mexico) and Ceitech (Argentina)
  • 2011 – A Public Tender Offer (OPA) for Quintec (Chile, Argentina and Colombia)
  • 2012 – Payment and user top-up solution for the public transportation system in Panama City (Panama)
  • 2012 – Capital increase for US$301 million
  • 2012 – Acquisition of PARS and Elucid (Brazil)
  • 2013 – Inauguration of the new data center in Santiago (Chile)
  • 2014 – Acquisition of CTIS
  • 2016 – Purchase of a majority share in Ativas
  • 2017 – Acquisition of the Colombian Compufácil Group
