SONDA, a leading company in providing solutions to accelerate digital transformation, reported its financial results for the first half of 2024 with consolidated revenues of US$770 million, representing an increase of 28.6% compared to the same period in 2023. The positive result is explained by the closing of contracts and active demand for technology services in all regions.
According to the report, all geographies showed double-digit revenue growth rates. Brazil led the growth with 61.4%, followed by the Andean Region with 41.5%, North America with 30.8%, and Southern Cone with 15.8%.
Operating income reached US$37 million in the period, representing a year-on-year increase of 21.2%, while EBITDA reached US$65 million, an expansion of 22.5% compared to the first half of 2023.
The net profit, meanwhile, stood at US$7.3 million. Although the figure is US$10.1 million lower than reported in the first half of 2023, this is mainly explained by a non-recurring financial gain generated during the first half of 2023 due to the takeover of Multicaja in January 2023.
On the other hand, the commercial performance of the technology company reached US$850 million with the closing of relevant businesses during the first half of this year. Among them, stand out: complementary service contracts in the Infovía project in Brazil, in the communications area; comprehensive technological outsourcing for Embraer in Brazil and Comfenalco (social security) in Colombia; a maintenance, support and operation service for the production control system in CODELCO’s underground mine; expansion with the Ministry of Interior of Uruguay of the video surveillance system; a fleet control system for Mexico City's light rail; among others.
Looking ahead to the rest of the year, the technology company reported that the pipeline or new business opportunities stands at US$5.9 billion, which means an increase of 7% compared to March 2024.
"The development of digitalization in government institutions and private companies continue growing at high rates and we want to be an ally in this development for our clients. Our knowledge in technological development of multiple industries, and alliances with more than 60 startups globally allows us to address multiple opportunities, both in the region and in the rest of the world," said Marcelo Castiglione, Corporate General Manager of SONDA, after reporting the semester's results.
As of June 2024, there are already 63 startups from Latin America and Europe that are part of our SONDA Venture Client area. We have more than 15 thousand employees and we have a greater presence both in the region and globally thanks to multiple alliances in each market and a robust startup ecosystem, whose developments complement our solutions and knowledge very well," added José Orlandini, Chairman of SONDA.
